Getting creative with an old tub
Getting creative with an old tub

One of the things we love to do is creating something new with something old. Case in point. We got an old jet tub from Tanya's mom and thought it would be a sweet way to create a water feature in our back yard. We are both big into solar power anything. Solar lights have tended to be our thing. One of the things we researched is a solar pump to power our Waterfall.

Digging the hole for a tub with a depth of about three feet was a bit daunting but on a 80 degree August day we got it done. One of the things we had to do once we dropped the tub in was make sure all the holes were sealed. It's a jet tub so flex seal tape seemed to do the trick and is holding.

The last steps were adding finishing details including filling dirt and adding some rocks gave it a pretty cool look. We'll add some river rock around the outside as well. The pump ran extremely well and holds a charge for the better part of a whole day.
