Nature has a way to humble you, to provide beauty and wonder. Our trip up the Endicott Arm Fjord to see the Dawes Glacier provided a top five "stop me in my tracks" moment.
Few things have that effect on me. In my late 40's into my 50's, nature has given me moments that take my breath away. Looking at the world around us with wonder is becoming one of my favorite things.
Our initial plan to navigate the Tracy Arm fjord was changed due to ice build up. Not wanting to end up like the Titanic, it was probably a good choice to head to the Endicott fjord. It was a trip where the ride continued to get better as we went along. Pine trees seemed to sprout out of places they shouldn't be able to grow and looking at a simple rock face became a game of "what can you see".
Once we were as far in as we could go due to ice, we stopped and marveled at the magnitude of our view. The pictures don't do it justice.

We didnt pay for a whale watching excursion but we didn't need to. On our way out, we watched over 100 whales surface. Seeing an animal so massive in their natural element was a view to behold for sure.
