After a phenomenal night of sleep, we awoke to a spectacular sunrise. Tanya was up around 5:00 a.m. and she woke me up at about 45 minutes later. There are certain things that hit me differently. Sun rises are it for me. That sunrise combined with the calm waters provided the perfect backdrop as we prepared to hit shore in Juneau. First, we needed fuel so we headed to breakfast. Tanya had French Toast with a peach compote, I had the most amazing Lox. Both were amazing! We weren't scheduled to get to port in Juneau until noon and debark the ship around 1:30 p.m. We arrived a littleearly and were off the ship and on ground in the capital city. For being the capital city, Juneau has more of a small town feel than that of a big capital city. We headed to the Red Dog Saloon for a world famous Duck Fart. The vibe inside takes you back to the gold rush. In addition to our drinks, we ordered chips and queso and pretzels. We didn't want to eat too much as we were planning a monster crab dinner at Tracy's Crab Shack. The floors were saw dust and a talented woman behind the piano solidified the vibe. We also made our way to the capital building. One of only two in the United States that is only accessible by plane or boat.

Then we made our way to Tracy's Crab Shack. There are two locations and videos we had watched advised to hit the second one a little off the beaten path. We chose the main location as the wait wasn't bad. Our order included lobster bisque, the most amazing crab legs, crab cakes and rolls. Oh my! So worth the trip and the investment. The rest of the afternoon, we cruised the boardwalk and just enjoyed the capital city taking in the sights and sounds before heading back to the ship.
